People always curious about how to build a bike that's never been done for a customer not necessarily know how to describe what they want and build it to (if not beyond) his dream? It's actually easier than you think. People usually came to us wanting a "Rough Crafts style bike", and that's a given, then I'll try to find out which bike(s) of ours the customer like the most, what riding style he prefer, etc, etc. Then the blurry imagine bit by bit became clear (at least in my head).
This time the task is very simple, the custom really love our World Champion bike "The Stealth Bullet", but he want something more extreme, more exaggerated, and he want that European drag HD type of clip-on with forward control riding style (as he called it "shrimp" style)
To have that exaggerated proportion we decided to start from a Softail Breakout, which comes with wider frame and steeper rake, we have made our own girder front end with Stealth Bullet but I found this company FG Racing making these beautiful billet girder forks that's very suiting to our style, the 23" lightweight spokes front wheel combine with 15" disc rear wheel have that weird balance of visual weight, but when designing the rear fender I realize that if I do the same style fender that wrap around the tire as on the Stealth Bullet I'll end up with a super wide fender, at the moment I decided to go with Air Ride suspension on the rear so I can have a very tight fender to the tire when parked. The rear pushed tank position enhanced that weight to the rear look also provide clearance to the clip-ons. (which are not actually clip-ons just mounted from the bottom of the topWinston Yeh tree)
