YAMAHA YARD BUILT PROJECT: CORSA SCORCHER & SOIL SCORPION XSR700 TWIN BUILD (2017)

After the first Yard Built and get to understand more into the program, I got very excited to express my interpretation of the how it could be.and lucky enough, Shun gave me the green light of a second build, the XSR platform was an amazing base to start with, but I was struggling to choose between the 700 and the 900, I prefer the tubular frame from 700 and the power of 900 was appealing too, since I never ridden either of those, I try to talk to Shun for the suggestion, and what he told me just clear my mind, "it's not always about more power, it's the power/weight ratio that counts." and I knew I have to go...

Ballistic Trident (2016)

This build was commissioned by MV Agusta Taiwan, to showcase the world what a MV Agusta can be done with Rough Crafts flavor. We try to capture the rich racing history of vintage MV Agusta with the newest model, the Brutale 800RR as the base, while looking at old pictures with MV racing vintage GP, we saw these old GP bikes with big dustbin full fairing, immediately I decided this is the biggest visual reference I want to put into the design, but the vintage dustbin fairing got a down side (also the reason it got banned from the race), it’ll face a big amount of side wind, also with a full fairing you’ll need to either make the faring very...

The celebrations of the Yamaha XJR1300’s 20th anniversary step up a gear with a stunning new build from first time collaborator Rough Crafts. Slate Hammer (2015)

The Bike was commissioned by a very good friend of mine who owns a clothing brand “TAKI” (https://www.facebook.com/TAKI.DESIGN), he was never really into bikes before but he likes to travel with us and done several trips to MOONEYES and JOINTS show, custom bikes grew on him very fast, this year his brand has a series of biker influence theme called “The Road Leader”, he can’t help it anymore, he need a bike, so naturally he came to me. He want a café racer, he want it clean and grey-ish color, that’s pretty much it, I knew him for years and the idea comes together fast. The key component is the vintage replica Dunstall GT half fairing by GFTP (http://www.caferacingparts.com/), looks...
