YAMAHA YARD BUILT PROJECT: GUERILLA FOUR XJR1300 BUILD (2015)

The celebrations of the Yamaha XJR1300’s 20th anniversary step up a gear with a stunning new build from first time collaborator Rough Crafts. Taiwanese builder Winston Yeh joins the Yard Built family with breath taking take on the iconic street bruiser, creating an even tougher, meaner, stripped back machine. “The Yard Built concept is always moving forward,” comments Yamaha Motor Europe Product Manager, Shun Miyazawa. “We have been privileged to work with not just the best custom builders in the world, but importantly builders who are doing something original, pushing boundaries with a distinct style. The Yard Built XJR1300 ‘Guerilla Four’ is no exception with the Rough Crafts signature, a sleek, stripped back creation that really stands out.” “The 2015...

Slate Hammer (2015)

The Bike was commissioned by a very good friend of mine who owns a clothing brand “TAKI” (https://www.facebook.com/TAKI.DESIGN), he was never really into bikes before but he likes to travel with us and done several trips to MOONEYES and JOINTS show, custom bikes grew on him very fast, this year his brand has a series of biker influence theme called “The Road Leader”, he can’t help it anymore, he need a bike, so naturally he came to me. He want a café racer, he want it clean and grey-ish color, that’s pretty much it, I knew him for years and the idea comes together fast. The key component is the vintage replica Dunstall GT half fairing by GFTP (http://www.caferacingparts.com/), looks...

Rusty Slider (2015)

This build started with a 3-way collaboration between 2 of my friends' brands, Taki Design, Provider Production, and the giant of work wear, Dickies. The whole collaboration is surounded within the biker and worker style of clothing. Among one of the meeting, the idea of Dickies building a bike for the project when both Taki Design and Provider Production got one of Rough Crafts bikes, the whole project ties together even closer if Dickies have a bike too. Turns out Dickies Taiwan's owner has a XR1200 and just been through a small crash couple days ago, so it's perfect timing? XR1200 is actually a good bike but the stock design aesthetics is just wrong in a lot of ways, but...

Midnight Fury (2015)

The Urban Cavalry was a good success for us, and to this bike's owner too. He saw the Urban Cavalry last year and he just fall in love with it, he want me to build something like it for him, but for his height 193cm, he'll make the Urban Cavalry looks like a kid's bike, also he told me he like black too (who doesn't?) so the game plan is cleared fast: build a Guerilla styled XXL sized Urban Cavalry. to the extend of that idea, I plan to build the most "blacked" black bike I've done, and by that, it's way more than just paint everything black, I want to make all different kind of black blend on the...

Hooligan Tactics (2015)

After the Urban Cavalry build, the idea of a Sportster/Street Fighter version of it has always been in my mind, when an owner brought us a slightly modified 48 and told me to do whatever I want with it, it's the perfect chance, just so happened I have a XR1200 turned vintage tracker build on the way, so it's perfect I have a XR swingarm laying around for this build, the rest  of it like inverted forks, Progressive piggyback shocks... etc kinda just falls into place naturally, then developed a prototype seat/tail section that's going to production soon, you'll see it works out well with Streetfighter, tracker, or cafe racer, which also will be demonstrated on our XR tracker build...
